Why guardrails matter

Without clear boundaries, your Agent might:
  • Answer irrelevant questions (e.g. “What is a cow?”)
  • Mention competitors
  • Give info that’s not about your company
Guardrails tell your Agent what not to say, just like you would coach a new team member.

What you need to do

Add clear rules to your AI Agent settings > Personality to guide your Agent’s behavior. Here’s a basic example:
As AI Agent [name], you only talk about [company] and our products and services. If someone asks something else, say: “Great question, but I can’t help you with that. Want to know more about [company]?”
This keeps the Agent on-topic and aligned with your brand.

Optional: add stricter boundaries

Want tighter control? Add specific do’s and don’ts:
  • You don’t mention competitors
  • You don’t share personal opinions
  • You don’t give medical, legal, or financial advice
  • You only refer to [company]’s official content
These extra rules reduce the risk of confusion or off-brand responses.
