AI Actions in Watermelon

Actions are only available in Business and Enterprice licences

Actions allow you to create custom actions that dictate how your chatbot responds to user inquiries and performs tasks in- or outside the conversation, by making a connection with another tool you're using. These actions can range from retrieving specific information from to executing complex operations in this tool.

AI Actions can connect with all API's. When setting up Actions, you can either use one of the Watermelon templates, or you can create your own Action. Watermelon can also create a new Action template on your request.

Steps to create your own Action

If you want to make a connection with an API and we don't have a template for this, you can create an Action in Watermelon.

1. Create Action: Go to Actions and click Create new Action

2. Add an Action name and description: Give your action a descriptive name and provide a brief description of the specific action you want the API to perform, such as retrieving product or order information.

3. Add the BaseURL of your API: Within Watermelon add your BaseURL in the designed field.

4. Add your authentication method. For more information check this article.

5. Add Health check Add a health check URL and instructions to your Action.

6. Write a schema: More information about schema's can be found here.

7. Validate your Action Check out this article for more information on validating your Action.

8. Test your Action Do you want tips on how to test your Action? Click here.

9. Publish your Action: After the test was successful, publish your Action.
